On January 17, Shandong Cultural and Tourism Department held the distribution ceremony of the second batch of mobile cultural service vans for the provincial-level cultural poverty-alleviation project in Shandong Provincial Cultural Center in Jinan.
The first batch of 30 mobile cultural service vans was distributed to the four categories of areas with arduous tasks against poverty. After the distribution of the second batch of 28 mobile cultural service vans, the mobile cultural service will fully cover the 58 province-determined counties with financial difficulties and counties in Yimeng Old Revolutionary Base Area.
The service will also cover more than 80 percent of the most depressed villages in the province and newly-built heightened villages in the Yellow River beach areas, which will play an important role in finishing the task of alleviating poverty via culture and promoting rural cultural revitalization.
With the support of the provincial poverty alleviation and development office and the provincial finance department, the cultural and tourism department spent two years equipping each of the 58 counties with financial difficulties with a mobile cultural service van, which is an important measure to prop up cultural poverty alleviation and rural cultural revitalization, and an effective way for the province to accelerate the equalization of public cultural service.
The mobile cultural service van features the functions of carrying out small and medium-sized artistic performances, cultural and recreational activities, comprehensive popularization of science, art exhibition, publicity of current affairs and policies, and implementing knowledge lectures, skills training, and film and television music appreciation through multimedia.
Cui Jianhai, director of Shandong Provincial Poverty Alleviation and Development Office, Wang Lei, director-general of Shandong Provincial Cultural and Tourism Department was present. Li Guolin, a first-class inspector of Shandong Provincial Cultural and Tourism Department, presided over the ceremony.
